Exercises to Calm Your Anxious Thoughts

Our body affects our mind.

It’s all related. How we move our body changes our mind. Doing things we love, going outside, all reduce stress. Anxiety is difficult to deal with and symptoms can make it hard to do what will actually make us feel better.

It doesn’t have to be running. It doesn’t have to be hours in the gym. You know the saying.. “do what you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” It’s the exact same for exercise. Find something you are passionate about. Going to the gym doesn’t have to be a grind.

Explore. There are so many ways to move our body. Bouldering, dance, martial arts. Just a few things that you could fall in love with. A few things that you can be really good at. Where you can find your community.

You aren’t going to be amazing when you first start. That’s what starting something new involves. Give yourself permission to suck. Seriously, just except that and keep going. It will take time, but you can enjoy the process of learning. Of being a beginner.

Find a way you enjoy exercising. Keep exploring. There is something out there just right for you.
