The Beginner's Guide to Mindfulness

Mindfulness made easy.

Mindfulness can seem overwhelming at first. Paying attention to everything. Not getting caught up in the whirlwind of thoughts. Being able to meditate for hours. Maybe one day, but starting there is rarely sustainable. So where should we begin?

With one breath. One word. One moment of clarity.

It’s easier to start small. Find a trigger, a cue. It can be anything. When you wake up in the morning, red lights, when you sit down to eat. Choose one. And right before you do that, take a breath. A deep breath will bring you back to the moment. It will be a small win that will snowball into a powerful habit.

A word, “calm”. When you feel an unpleasant emotion start to rise, say it. You don’t have to get rid of the emotion. Stuff it down. The word isn’t meant to remove anything. It’s just there to center you. To bring you to a space where you realize.. “I’m feeling something”.

Start small. Become mindful one moment at a time.
